Prof. Fa-quan Wu Visited to Spain on April 18th

On April 18th, International engineering geology and environment association (IAEG) held working conference in Madrid of the Spanish which discussed the academic journal, website building and relevant work. President of IAEG, Prof. Carlos Delgado, presided over the meeting, and secretary general of IAEG, prof. Fa-quan Wu, and journal editor of IAEG, prof. Brian Hawkins, and web editor, prof. Giorgio Lollino et al attended the meeting. Dr Christian Witschel who is director of earth department of springer, and Dr Sebastien Dupery who is former secretary general were invited to attend, too.

The meeting discussed two problems and consulted with publisher: improving the quality and impact factor of Bulletin of Engineering Geology and the Environment; providing and distributing accurately higher quality service of online. Giorgio Lollino introduced revised scheme of website, and indicated that the website would provide higher quality service to member through high efficience, goodwill, beautiful, window of website. The revised web pages will be run in June.

The meeting also discussed preparation work of the executive committee and the council of IAEG which will be held in September 2011, arrangement of 50-anniversary celebration in 2014 and academic conferences that is to in memory of  Former chairman Marcel Arnould who passed away one year ago.

Dr. Steve Perry put forward to establish Hong Kong group of IAEG. Through discussing, China group and Hong Kong members suggested establish Hong Kong team of China group of IAEG.

The meeting also discussed request holding international seminar of IAEG of Tongji University. President Carlos Delgado showed welcome and support, and suggested to apply for meeting on council meeting of IAEG in September 2011.
